Homemade almond butter is so delicious and super simple to make. This version only has one ingredient (almonds) and is free of all the added junk you find in some versions on store shelves. You’ll definitely want to use either your Vitamix or a similarly high powered blender for the recipe below! See my post about The Best Juicers and Blenders in case you’re looking to purchase or upgrade to a new machine.
Ingredients
- 4 cups raw almonds
Optional
- 3-4 Tbs of avocado oil
Instructions
-
If you roast your almonds, to avoid adding any additional oils, preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
-
Place the almonds on a parchment lined baking tray and roast for 10-13 minutes and let cool completely.
-
Transfer the almonds to your Vitamix container.
-
If not roasting the almonds,, add the avocado oil to your Vitamix container, then add in the nuts.
-
Transfer the almond butter to an airtight container, like these Mason Ball Jars, and store in the refrigerator.
- Note on storage:Â Your almond butter will stay good for several weeks in the fridge (if not longer).
