My Favorite Sunday Afternoon Cocktail
July 21, 2019I don’t know about you, but we always seem to have a leftover open bottle of sparkling wine at the end of a weekend and it never seems to be enough for two full glasses. I began to think of a way to integrate it into a fun cocktail since I’m definitely not one to let good bubbles go to waste! The following recipe is for my favorite Sunday afternoon cocktail, which I’ve affectionately named the “Pacific Sipper” as a little tribute to the beautiful PNW!
Pacific Sipper Cocktail Recipe
Full disclosure: If you do not have all the ingredients, never fear! You can easily swap in alternatives which I’ve listed below.
- 1.5 fl oz (1 shot) Aviation Gin or, Crater Lake Vodka or, Hornitos Tequila
- .75 fl oz (1/2 shot) St. Germain Elderberry liqueur
- Grapefruit Juice
- Mint or Rosemary
- Sparkling Wine (any kind!)
- Tip: If using tequila, and you want to add some spice, add a slice of jalapeño when shaking.
Shake the gin (vodka or tequila), elderberry liqueur, grapefruit juice and a few mint leaves in a cocktail shaker (this is the one I have and love!) with ice. Pour over a glass (like this) filled with ice, and top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon, orange, lime or grapefruit wedge. If you added spice, add a slice of jalapeño to garnish. Cheers!
