The Drink I’m Drinking ALL Summer Long!
June 21, 2019Every summer, it seems like I choose a new “drink of choice” and then I majorly fan girl all over it until one of two things happen. It becomes too cold to drink during the winter or I burn out on it. Can you relate?
Well, this summer, my drink is an oldie but a goodie. Inspired by a recent trip to Italy, “The Aperol Spritz” has been a long time favorite and is the drink I’m drinking all summer long. Now, Italy has been perfecting the “Aperitivo Hour” also known as “Spritz Hour” for decades and it’s finally popped up on our side of the ocean. The Drink I’m Drinking All Summer Long
The recipe calls for one of my favorite things ever…bubbly! And the best part? This drink is super easy to make at home and enjoy. YES!
HOW TO MAKE AN APEROL SPRITZ:
You’ll need:
-
-
-
-
-
- A bottle of Aperol (this is my favorite kind of Aperol)
- A bottle of high quality prosecco or sparkling wine with a nice muted sweetness
- A bottle of Fever Tree Soda Water
- Orange slices
- Ice
- Wine Glasses

First things first, to be called a spritz, a drink needs only to loosely follow the formula: three parts bubbly, two parts bitter, one part soda. Add citrus.
To begin, fill a big wine glass with ice. Add bubbly, a shot (to taste) of Aperol and top with soda water. Stir gently to combine and garnish with a slice of orange.
So easy right?! I hope you enjoy!

I NEVER add soda to Aperol spritz! Deletes the flavor and doesn’t need it. 😂

We love our Aperol Spritz here in Shoreline WA! We NEVER top with soda. When I teach customers how to make, I point out the recipe on back of the bottle and tell them don’t use the soda. Why water this great drink down? They love my suggestion.
