The Most Delicious Fresh Basil Gimlet Recipe!
September 13, 2021The Gin Gimlet has always been a favorite of mine. Today, I’m sharing this new spin on the classic cocktail with the addition of fresh basil. Introducing my Basil Gimlet made with the delicious AMASS Dry Gin! Crafted in Downtown L.A. by Master Distiller Morgan McLachlan, AMASS Dry Gin is a citrus-forward, herbaceous spirit balanced with earthy umami notes from Reishi mushroom and lion’s mane mushroom. The fresh basil is the perfect compliment and my recipe below is one you can easily shake up at home! Enjoy and cheers!
Fresh Basil Gimlet
Equipment
Ingredients
- 5 large fresh basil leaves
- 1.5 oz gin
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Instructions
- First, put four basil leaves in the palm of your hand and clap your hands together (no lie!), and then place them in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.
- Next, add your gin, lime juice and simple syrup into your cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
- Once shaken, strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass (love these with the gold rim!) or other small chilled glass.
- Last, garnish with the remaining basil leaf and ENJOY!

- Hendrick’s Gin
You can also serve this cocktail on the rocks! Simply strain your cocktail into a in a double old fashioned glass filled with ice.
