I used to love Starbucks PSL’s and could hardly wait for fall to arrive so I could get my fix…however, as I got older they began to taste more and more artificial to me and would give me the sugar jitters for DAYS. When the hubs and I invested in our own espresso machine a few years back, I quickly developed this healthy PSL dupe! The following is the perfect healthy pumpkin spice latte recipe that you can make at home and I’m positive you will love it as much as I do!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 shot of espresso (I recommend this budget machine, or this spendy machine)
- 1 tbs organic maple syrup
- 1 tbs organic pumpkin puree
- 1 tbs organic pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup milk or almond milk
DIRECTIONS
– Place maple syrup, pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice in the bottom of your coffee cup and mix together.
– Next, place your coffee cup under your espresso machine and draw your espresso shot directly into the mug. Stir until well combined.
– Using a milk steamer (this is my FAVORITE, it’s so easy to use!) or the milk frother on your espresso machine, steam the milk until foamy on top. Then pour it slowly into the espresso mixture in your mug.
– Top with a little sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and ENJOY!
A few last thoughts..
– You can easily double this recipe, without consequence and it would be the size of a grande at Starbucks.
– You really should only use high quality roasted coffee beans for the best tasting version of this recipe!
– If you’re caffeine sensitive try making this decaf! It’s just as wonderful!
Pair this delicious PSL with a slice of my favorite healthy banana bread, and be transported straight to heaven!
XO!
