FREE Valentine’s Day Ideas
Make Breakfast In Bed
Obviously this one requires you getting up a bit earlier in the morning to get started, but it’s totally worth the effort! Starting off your partners day with a sweet gesture like a yummy, hot breakfast in bed would make anyones day positive and special. Extra brownie points if you put bake this delicious Banana Bread the night before to serve with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs and a piping hot cup of coffee.
Make A Special Dinner
I’m a big fan of putting a bit of extra effort into dinner to make it special. I’ll spend an extra hour baking fresh homemade bread or even making my own homemade pasta for this perfect dinner for two. Pair it with a nice bottle of wine, light some candles and you’ve just created a very special evening for the two of you to share!
Surprise Coffee At Work
This is one of my personal favorites! You know how you feel when your significant other does something without you asking, or randomly brings you the lunch you forgot in the fridge because they noticed? That’s the exact same feeling you create when you surprise your spouse with their favorite coffee drink at work. It’s unexpected and totally darling! If you can’t surprise your spouse, consider making one at home like this delicious latte!
Have A Picnic Indoors
Sometimes it’s fun to mix things up! One Valentine’s we spread a blanket in front of the TV,made this yummy cocktail and shared a platter of all of our favorite meats and cheeses. It made it so much more special to do something a bit out of the norm, and it was quite romantic. This could also be a good idea if you have kids!
Surprise Post-It Notes
Grab some Post-Its and write something that you love about your significant other on them. Try to write about 10 (or more!) and place them all around the house where they will see them as they go through their morning/night routine. This way they will continually find your little love notes. Extra bonus if you surprise them during the day with coffee or end the day with an amazing meal.
Share Why You Love Each Other
Either in the morning over your cup of joe, or in the evening over this delicious and easy dessert, take turns sharing why you love each other! Life can get so hectic sometimes that we forget really what it is all about and this is the perfect occasion to really ground yourselves on why you’re together in the first place!
Write A Sweet Love Poem
Poems do not always have to rhyme. That was my biggest takeaway from English class as a freshman in high school – – A poem can be as simple as a few lines, or as long as multiple pages, whatever you decide to write just make sure it comes from the heart. Not only will your spouse be pleasantly surprised, but the time and effort they put in will mean a lot to them.
Offer Up A Massage
I feel like this one is definitely self-explanatory! Maybe give a foot massage and partner it with a glass of wine, or draw a nice bath for your loved one and surprise them beforehand with a sweet massage. No one hates on a free massage!
Go On A Walk Together
There’s just something about holding hands with with the person you love. This one takes me all the way back to high school, when you’d walk to class with whoever your latest squeeze was – – and held hands. Don’t you remember the excitement? The giddy ness? There is something so pure and sweet about this little gesture, plus as a bonus you’ll get some exercise and enjoy some fresh air!
Nothing catch your eye?
