The Best Breweries in Eugene Oregon!
July 10, 2022We all know I’m a big fan of all things beverage (wine, cocktails.. BEER). So it’s no wonder that I’m often asked by friends, family and followers, “what are some of the best breweries in Eugene”? I feel like it’s already pretty well-known that Oregon is home to one of the best craft brewery scenes across America, but did you know Eugene is home to an abundance of small, craft breweries and a few of the more famous, nationally-known breweries? Well, today I’m excited to round up the best breweries in Eugene Oregon for you – whether you’re a local looking for something new to try, or traveling to the area to explore – below is a list to help with the decision on where to go for the best beers. It’s good to note that most of the breweries in Eugene have great food, as well as some of the best patio seating in the Eugene and Springfield area. So go hungry and ready to enjoy! Cheers!
The Best Breweries in Eugene Oregon
Ninkasi
Ninkasi is one of the top five largest breweries in the state, and is well-known nationally for their highly rated beers. Made famous at the start of the craft beer movement, Ninkasi is popular for their big, robust, and flavorful IPA’s. However, no fear, there is something for everyone. From Lagers, to Pilsners, to an Oatmeal Stout that’s creamy and delicious, Ninkasi even has some great food options at their spot in The Whitaker Neighborhood (also fondly referred to as “The Whit”) called The Better Living Room. Go for the beer, stay for the food (order the Blue Heaven Popcorn! No regrets!) and the great ambiance.
Coldfire
Coldfire, located near the 5th Street Public Market is a true craft brewery, specializing in small batch beers with great flavor. Known for great IPA’s, Coldfire has made a name for itself with a great selection of beers with a European brewing strategy combined with a Pacific Northwest flare. Coldfire also has a great food truck scene and you can find some of the more popular food trucks in the area onsite with multiple food options on the weekends.
Claim 52
With two locations to visit in Eugene, we personally love the Claim 52 Kitchen in Downtown Eugene on Willamette Street. Claim 52 has been making great beer for a decade in Eugene. One of my personal favorites in the area, they have a delicious restaurant with an ample outdoor patio space. Claim 52 makes one of the best and most flavorful Kolsch beers I’ve ever had, along with fun seasonal releases like hazy IPA’s, reds, and everything in between. Claim 52 is also a great spot if you have those in your party who do not enjoy beer as they offer a selection of wine, hand crafted cocktails, and even their own hard seltzer line! Just make sure to go hungry and try their fried pickles, crispy cauliflower and one of their yummy burgers!
Hop Valley
Home to arguably the largest and best patio in Eugene, with humble roots of a national brewery, Hop Valley has it all. From recognizable beers distributed nationally, to beers which are experimental for the locals to try first before they make it out into distribution (we were lucky to try the second batch of Bubble Stash IPA on tap before it was released, so good!), Hop Valley is a great place to visit and also located in the Whit. Great food, huge patio, and great beers, you can get it all at this Eugene Oregon brewery staple.
Oakshire
Also located in the Whit, Oakshire is a community-inspired, small- batch brewery that makes some of the best beer in Eugene. With a focus on high-quality craftsmanship, Oakshire started in Eugene in 2006, and offers guests an electric atmosphere with tons of fresh brewed options on tap. With a rotation of delicious food trucks, outdoor seating, and a large beer hall, you could spend hours enjoying life at Oakshire.
Alesong
With two locations, one of which being conveniently located at the 5th Street Public Market, Alesong crafts award-winning small-batch, limited release, barrel-aged delicious beers for you and your beer loving friends to enjoy. For those looking for big flavor with focus on small, unique offerings, Alesong is a good place to learn, enjoy, have a glass and enjoy a bite off their small bites menu.
Sunriver Brewing
Sunriver Brewing hails from the small town of Sunriver which is located in central Oregon, just south of Bend. This spot at Eugene’s Oakway Center is a satellite location for the central Oregon brewery. Offering an amazing patio, great food and fresh and delicious beers, this is a fun, central spot to grab a beer and enjoy.
I hope you enjoyed this round up of the best breweries in Eugene Oregon!
As always, drink responsibly.
