It’s my birthday today! Yayyy! This morning, I woke up one year older and for that, I will be forever thankful. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I never chat about my birthday, in fact, it’s always been a day I’d like to lowkey slip past, but today I felt the need to celebrate life a little. This past year has seen a lot of personal growth, and having grown up with older parents, godparents, and siblings, I am very aware of how growing old is not something we all get to do. I recognize how lucky I am to be alive and healthy. I’ve also realized as I’ve gotten older, that quality (relationships to lifestyle) surpasses the quantity of anything. Every. Single. Time. Today, I am not only celebrating life, but giving thanks because I see the value of the quality people, quality friendships, quality time, quality things I have in my life and I know that they are what really matters most. Below, I’m rounding up and sharing with you a few things I’m grateful for on my birthday! And.. psst.. one of them is you!
THINGS I’M GRATEFUL FOR ON MY BIRTHDAY!
– my perfectly, imperfect family
– my friends, and the realization that quality friendships surpass quantity
– delighting in the little things
– the voice to be grateful everyday
– the power to embrace growth
– the heartbreaks, losses, rejections, failures and betrayal that have made me wiser and value my life and relationships even more
– my job and the amazing businesses and people I get to work with, and work for, every day
– my investments that are growing, and even those that have gone wrong
– great books that have molded and entertained me
– Sabai takeout, Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate and Oregon wine
– our crazy, silly, loyal cat Teddy
– all the traveling and adventures I’ve been blessed to take
– the courage to face my fear (like quitting my job three years ago to start my own business and blog!)
– my resilience in facing challenges, and the will to move on
– silence and solidarity, integrity and drive
– the rising traffic on my blog (I have you readers to thank for that!)
– the invitation-only acceptance and the slow and steady growth of my LikeToKnow.it business
– the constructive, and not so constructive criticism I receive from strangers
– the delicious food, wine and craft cocktails I get to enjoy with amazing company
– my thriving social business
Looking through this list and cannot help but feel so incredibly blessed! The small things really do add up. I know I’m still a work in progress in many aspects, but I’m so thankful.
Thank you is not enough but that’s all I’ve got right now. So, thank you universe for being so kind and generous to me,and thank you to each of you for your love, support and encouragement!
Cheers to another day well lived!
XO,
M
