A BLONDE VINTAGE

When we were visiting Louisville, Kentucky last summer (check out that Travel Guide here!) we stayed in the amazing Omni hotel, which was located right downtown. Now… you know you’re probably staying at the best hotel in Louisville, when there is a speakeasy hidden away near the lobby. Best amenity ever! Well, it was at that speakeasy (Pin+Proof) that I had one of the best gin cocktails I’ve ever had… It was called the “Bee’s Knees” and when I arrived home I was DEAD SET to recreate this amazing-ness. Based on a well-known cocktail, there was just something different about the one I enjoyed at the speakeasy… it was a bit hard to pinpoint, but I think I finally got it and what I bring to you today is my almost perfect version of that cocktail, the closest thing I could muster. Without further ado, here is my Bee’s Knees Cocktail. Cheers, friends!

Everything but the Bee’s Knees

BEE'S KNEES COCKTAIL

This bright and delicious cocktail is made with honey, lemon and gin.

Equipment

• 1 Cocktail Shaker
• 1 Martini Glass

Ingredients

  

1x2x3x

• 2 ounces Gin
• 3/4 ounces Fresh Lemon Juice
• 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
• 1/2 ounce Organic Honey (instead of Simple Syrup)
• 1 cup ice
• 1 organic lemon

Instructions

 

• To create, place all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker (this is a great set!) and fill with ice.
• Next, place the cap on your shaker and vigorously shake your cocktail.
• Lastly, strain into a chilled coupe, martini glass (love these with the gold rim!) or another small chilled glass. and garnish with a lemon twist!
