Maker’s Summer Sipper
INGREDIENTS
(makes enough for 1 cocktail)
INSTRUCTIONS
First off, muddle one half of a strawberry with the orange peel in the bottom of a cocktail shaker (this is a great set!). Next, add your remaining ingredients into your cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake, shake, shake (about 8 hard shakes) and strain into a double old-fashioned glass (I like these with the weighted bottoms). Finish your drink by garnishing with a large strawberry and generous sprig of mint.
NOTE: Making strawberry syrup is simple! I just use my mom’s true and tested recipe. To make the strawberry syrup, dissolve 1 cup sugar into 1 cup water over high heat, add 4 diced strawberries to the pot and simmer on low until the mixture coats the back of a spoon. Last, let the syrup cool and then strain into a small bottle with a stopper (like this). This will store up to one month in the fridge.
