BEST SPA RESORTS IN SCOTTSDALE ARIZONA
Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, Curio Collection by Hilton
Spa
The Spa at The Boulders is wonderfully intimate and warm, with an abundance of amenities to try and treatments to explore. Restore both your mind and body at the 33,000 square-foot spa which offers revitalization through massage, facials and other refreshing therapies infused with ingredients from the Boulders’ desert environment. As soon as you arrive, choose from one of the many onsite amenities the resort spa offers. With several treatments rooms, a meditation room, a heated outdoor pool and signature steam rooms and saunas, you’ll find this luxurious spa offers everything you need for soul-stirring renewal.
The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort
Spa
The Centre for Well-Being at The Phoenician is one of my favorite spa resorts in Scottsdale. Having recently finished a complete renovation in the past few years, the brand-new, three-story spa features a rooftop pool and 360 views of the property. With 24 treatment rooms, a VIP suite, vitality pools and signature spa treatments, the spa offers the classic experience in relaxation and rejuvenation. Just make sure to head for poolside lunch and drinks prior to your treatment. And, if you’re planning a night out on the town or special dinner afterward, keep in mind that a Dry Bar is located right outside the doors to the spa entrance.
My personal recommendation for the best spa experience at The Phoenician is to arrive early! On this trip our treatments were booked for the later afternoon around 4:00 pm and we arrived around 10:00 am to fully take advantage of all the amenities available to us. We started our morning with an hour in the fitness center, before heading up to the rooftop pool for the afternoon where we read, swam and relaxed. Providing dramatic views of both the resort and Camelback Mountain, the rooftop pool served as a nice little retreat prior to our spa service. We enjoyed a healthy and delicious lunch and a refreshing, guilt-free cocktail. It was perfection.
About 45 minutes before our treatments we headed down to our respective lounges and indulged in a preparatory hot-and-cold contrast hydrotherapy to enhance our upcoming treatment and overall well-being as was suggested to us by our Spa Concierge.
Hot-and-cold contrast hydrotherapy routine: 5-minute Sauna – dry heat for muscle recovery and pain relief; 5-minute Steam – wet heat to flush toxins from the body and improve breathing; 30-second Cold Shower – to stimulate circulation; 5-minute rest; 10-minute Vitality Hot Tub – to boost the immune system and promote overall relaxation; 30-second Cool Shower – to regulate body temperature; and a 5- to 10-minute rest before your spa treatment.
My treatment, the Body and Soul Massage was exceptional. Like nothing else I’ve ever experienced…it was bliss. The treatment starts off with a calming array of essential oils, while steaming hot towels are incorporated throughout the service to aid in the anti-inflammatory and healing properties of the essential oils, all while calming the mind. It was the best 80 minutes of my life.
JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa
Spa
The Spa at Marriott’s Camelback Inn captured the hearts of both valley residents and visitors well before spa retreats were even a popular excursion. This award-winning 32,000 square-foot facility in the center of the Sonoran Desert features a pool, saunas, steam baths and whirlpools and offers a full range of services and 30 treatment rooms. Blend the indulgences of a full-service destination spa within a spectacular resort, offering the ambiance and magic of perfect views of Camelback Mountain.
The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa
Spa
The Westin Kierland Resort’s Agave Spa captures the essence of Arizona, by perfectly blending a zenful retreat meets dessert atmosphere throughout every touch point. From treatments to the architecture, this full-service spa offers a fitness center, spa pool, saunas, steam rooms, and is complete with lush amenities and indulgent treatments. My favorite part of the experience is your are encouraged to completely leave your troubles at the door. Hung at the entrance of every treatment room, is a handmade Apache Woven Basket. Guests are asked to place their thoughts, worries and to-do lists in the basket so their mind is clear and available to enjoy the benefits of the treatment they’ve selected.

The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North offers a full range of skin, body, and salon services inspired by the spirit and ingredients of the desert. You’re guaranteed to relax at the 12,000-square-foot Spa where you’ll find hot stone massage and facials that feature local, seasonal ingredients, including saguaro blossom, the state flower. Chic, contemporary rooms come with flat-screen TVs and desert views; some provide free-standing tubs, sitting areas, balconies, and/or patios with fireplaces and showers. These beautiful accommodations exude a style with contemporary furnishings, natural finishes, and tile flooring throughout.
Adero Scottsdale
Spa
A small, intimate spa, The Spa at Adero provides an array of European-inspired therapies for your indulgence. Featuring natural skin and body spa treatments, relaxing and rejuvenating signature massage treatments, manicures and pedicures The Spa is where the body, mind and soul unite in unsurpassed luxury.
For this experience, we arrived early to indulge in a fitness workout prior to enjoying a light lunch and sparkling wine by the spa pool. When it was time for our afternoon spa appointments we headed inside to change into our robes and relax in the relaxation room for about 30 minutes before our treatments. I personally selected their 80 minute Amethyst Massage, where this soothing, full-body massage uses light to medium pressure to calm and relax the nervous system. Amethyst-infused oil is used to release tension and stress in the body and mind, inviting a peaceful mindset. The treatment concludes with a series of soothing and nurturing stillness holds to draw you into a state of deep peace and relaxation. It was total heaven.
My mother decided to indulge in the Stargazer Illuminating Facial which includes Vitamin C to brighten while aloe and bamboo help strengthen and hydrate. Her skin was as radiant as the moonlit night for days!
Resort
Adero Scottsdale is a spacious resort featuring 177 rooms (including 16 oversized suites) with private balcony for guests to enjoy unrivaled starry skies and sweeping views providing guests with an exceptional getaway. My favorite part of the property are the dramatic views from its lofty vantage point in the majestic McDowell Mountains overlooking Fountain Hills, Arizona. An elevated escape with a fitness club, deeply restorative wellness experience at The Spa at Adero, farm-to-table cuisine, a poolside oasis, on-site trailheads for hikes and mountain biking, access to the neighboring Sunridge Canyon Golf Club, nightly stargazing and more, Adero invigorates the mind and stirs the spirit for getaways that are true adventures for the soul.

Each year my girlfriends and I go to Scottsdale. I love this whole list of choices! Thanks for making next year’s trip so easy for me to plan!
Aww you’re welcome! I hope this next years trip is perfect!
I had no idea the Phoenician just did a remodel! How amazing, the photos hardly do it justice! I cannot wait to take my husband for our anniversary.
Yes! It is absolutely stunning and I think it’s now my favorite hotel I’ve ever been to. The spa alone is so impressive! You will have such an amazing time!
We have a trip planned next March and are staying at Copperwynd. I’m so happy to see that It made your list! What’re some of your favorite restaurants nearby?
The Copperwynd itself has an amazing restaurant onsite – otherwise, I also really like the Four Seasons nearby 🙂
