Saturday Sipper Cocktail
April 18, 2020This cocktail we fondly refer to as our “Saturday Sipper Cocktail”. It uses a few ounces of red wine, which we usually have leftover from Wednesday or Thursday night and need to finish. Â If you plan ahead, I’m sure you can also save a little bit of your red wine for this cocktail. Or heck, just open a new bottle…we all know it will get finished! Sidebar: Anyone else been feeling EXTRA guilty about their recycling bin lately? I swear I’m being judged every two weeks for the amount of empty bottles that are in there.. Oh well! Quarantine, am I right?! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this recipe for our Saturday Sipper Cocktail also known as The New York Sour! Cheers!
INGREDIENTS
– 4 ounces Makers Mark Bourbon
– 2 ounces lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)
– 2 ounces simple syrup
– 2 ounce red wine (1 ounce in each COCKTAIL)
GARNISH
– 2 lemon twist (this is the best peeler!)Â
DIRECTIONS
Gently pour 1 ounce of a rich and fruity red wine (such as a Red Blend, Shiraz or Merlot) over the back of a spoon held just above the drink’s surface so wine floats on top.
