Homemade Kahlua Recipe
This Homemade Kahlua Recipe is perfect for splashing into coffee or shaking up into a cocktail!
Equipment
- 4-6 Gift Bottles I love these!
Ingredients
- 4 cups Water
- 1 cup Organic Instant Coffee
- 1 750 ml bottle Rum or Everclear
- 4 cups Organic Brown Sugar
- 3 tbsp Vanilla Bean Paste
Instructions
- Combine water and instant coffee in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Stir the brown sugar into coffee, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring every 15 minutes with a wooden spoon, for 3 hours.
- Please note, the longer it simmers, the thicker it will become.
- Next remove from the heat and cool completely before adding in your Rum or Everclear, and vanilla bean.
- Divide into gift bottles, let sit in a dark place for 2 - 3 weeks and then either share with friends or family, or enjoy yourself!
